Life at the Edge

Through both my work and travels I am often asked why I enjoy the outdoors so much.  I strongly believe in the theory that "life begins on the edge of your comfort zone" and I often refer to this when I am asked about my outdoor adventures.

These experiences have pushed me beyond my usual boundaries, leading to my personal growth and self-discovery.

New Challenges

My adventures have often involved navigating unfamiliar terrains, weather conditions, and physical challenges. These experiences have forced me to confront fears, develop my problem-solving skills, and adapt to new situations.

Resilience and Confidence

In overcoming obstacles in the travels in the outdoors has built my resilience and confidence. Each of the challenges I have conquered has reassured me of my capabilities, encouraging me to tackle future challenges both in nature and in my everyday life.

Personal Growth

Stepping out of my comfort zone has promoted my self-discovery and personal growth. This has provided a unique opportunity to reflect on my personal strengths and weaknesses, fostering a deeper understanding of myself.

Mindfulness and Presence

My experiences in nature have encouraged my mindfulness and a heightened my sense of presence. The necessity to focus on the immediate environment and tasks at hand has helped me to become more aware and appreciative of the moment and enhancing my overall mental well-being.

Strengthening Social Connections

My adventures have often involved teamwork and collaboration. Shared experiences in challenging environments has strengthened bonds and improved my communication skills and leading to more meaningful social connections.

Reconnecting with Nature

My activities also foster a connection with the natural world, providing a sense of peace and fulfilment. This connection has inspired a greater appreciation for my environment and my desire to preserve it.

Breaking Rules

Throughout my adventures the disruption to  daily routines, offers a refreshing change of pace. This break from routine has stimulated my creativity and proves a new perspective which has enriched my life experiences.

Promoting Physical Health

Spending time in the outdoors has improved my physical health through exercise, which in turn has led to positive effects on my mental health. The physical exertion and exposure to fresh air have all contributed towards my overall well-being.

By pushing myself to the edges of my comfort zone has facilitated a growth in my holistic experience that have enriched my life in ways that staying within the familiar confines cannot have achieved.
